The renowned gynaecologist with additional qualifications in infectiology and medicinal tumour therapy has worked on four continents and has written more than 300 scientific articles, over 100 book chapters and 5 books in three languages. He has also been active in numerous guideline commissions and European societies, including ten years as chairman of the DGGG's AGII infectiology working group. In 2014, he was the youngest gynaecologist to be awarded an honorary doctorate from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece.
