Haro Fries inherits a house on Sylt from his uncle Heiko. Shortly thereafter, he sets off with his wife Wencke and their two young children to inspect the inheritance. The house turns out to be a tranquil guesthouse with the idyllic name "Kleine Möwe" (Little Seagull) and confronts the young couple with a decision: Should they sell? Rent it out?
