Starting in the 1670s, Leibniz became intensely engaged with the latest advances in science and mathematics. This was also the period of his correspondence with Otto von Guericke and the excerpt from his 1672 Experimenta Nova Magdeburgica. The excerpt is published here for the first time in German translation with explanations, and presented together with the correspondence.
