The contact between the Orient and the Occident that took place in Spain over the course of eight centuries (7111492) had a cultural and linguistic impact that stretches into the present day. This is why, after Latin, Arabic has had the biggest influence on Spanish vocabulary. This study aims to describe this influence, defined as a cultural adstrate, on different linguistic levels by taking into account the underlying structures.
