This book demonstrates how physics can be used to analyse biological phenomena. Written to be accessible to both biologists and physicists, major stages and components of the biological development process are introduced and then analysed from the viewpoint of physics. The presentation of physical models requires no mathematics beyond basic calculus. This book avoids the narrow focus and considerable complexity of many other books in this area wherein depth treatment is required. It Is hoped that the present book will prove to be more useful to the students than any other book on the subject available in the market.

S.G. Sandhu, obtained master's degree in Bioinformatics from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab). He completed his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at Michigan State University. He has worked at Colorado State University for the 16 years teaching bioinformatics and laboratory courses.
