Everyone needs wisdom. It helps us understand the world and handle the challenges we face each day. This little book grew from the conversations I've had with the remarkable people I work with?people who reminded me how important it is to read to our children, take them to the library, and surround them with books.

The stories you'll find here are true. They come from many different people, including my own childhood. Each story shows how ordinary moments?even the difficult ones?can teach us something valuable. When children learn to look for the lesson in every experience, they begin to build wisdom. And with wisdom comes a positive outlook, confidence, and the ability to think clearly when life gets complicated.

My hope is that this book helps children grow with curiosity, kindness, and a strong, joyful attitude toward the beautiful life waiting ahead of them.
