Author Andrew Parkin had some military intelligence experience from years ago, but says it is outdated. "I therefore invented a good deal of secret technology that cannot be researched, because it's secret!" The author was educated in Birmingham, Cambridge, and Bristol. His military service was as a Russian linguist in Berlin during the Cold War. He has been a university professor in Canada and Hong Kong. This is his 24th book and he is writing the sequel.
