But when fate cruelly intervened, James made the hardest decision: to leave Kate behind, to walk away without saying goodbye.
Now, nearly two years later, life has offered them a second chance, but once lost, can love be refound?
Autorentext
I moved from England to Australia almost 40 years ago, embarking on a new life, leaving behind a love story that one day may be told. I pursued my nursing career and became settled in a lifestyle governed by "no worries" and "she'll be right". Today, when I look back, I feel proudest of my three children, my thirty-three years of marriage, running my first of five marathons at fifty, completing my master's at sixty and writing my first novel at sixty-three.But more than anything, I am grateful for the chance I have had to care for others and to make a difference in their lives. Writing has always been a passion of mine, allowing me to write stories through descriptive prose. I aim to create moments that feel immersive, allowing readers to step inside a character's experience. This book reflects pieces of my own life, but it also recognises the struggles many people face. It acknowledges the challenges life sets before us and the resilience needed to navigate both life and love. Threaded through the book is the importance of friendship, the deep, unshakeable bond shared by lifelong friends. I hope you find as much pleasure in reading this story as I did in creating it.
