Special friends and hugs are important to young children. They help develop imagination and a sense of security. Hug-A-Lump is a true friend and companion. This story was inspired by and is dedicated to the authors' daughters, Alecia and Sheena and to her six siblings.

About the Illustrator Emily-Anne Guiry is a student at the Art Institute of Vancouver, studying Animation Art and Design. Upon completion of her studies she hopes to animate for children's cartoons. Author Autobiography Brenda Brooks was born in Chicoutimi, Quebec and spent her childhood in Toronto, Ontario. Ms. Brooks comes from a large family with five sisters and one brother. She presently resides in British Columbia and enjoys writing children's books inspired by her experiences in raising her two daughters and in her own childhood.
