Otis is a three-strikes cat with a checkered adoption record until Bob, an 84-year-old widower, rescues him within the hour of his scheduled animal shelter death. But their quiet, simple life together high up in the mountains is soon disrupted when Bob goes missing in the woods.

All at once, it's up to Otis to overcome his fear of the outdoors, his prejudice against other animals, and enlist the help of two adolescent bears to help rescue Bob and bring him to safety.
