Cheese At the Top of the Stairs is a fiction humorous children's book written to teach children that by working hard and being committed, one can receive a strongly desired reward. This was accomplished through the confidence of a human, the love, concern and support of animal friends and the efforts, determination and persistence of a very small animal.

Carol Ford is a retired teacher living in a lovely small town in Anson County, North Carolina with her husband, Charles. She loves spending time with her daughter, Toye, son, Charles, Jr., grandchildren, Robert, Amani and Cameron, and great granddaughter, Jayla. Going to church, reading, cooking, watching mystery and western movies and hosting the annual Christmas dinner for her family gives her great joy. She occasionally speaks at her church and writes plays and skits.
