A Very Long Night is a collection of twenty-seven short literary stories on various life situations, many with surreal twists. Some of the major themes covered herein are obsession, regret, and redemption. In one story, a traveler falls in love with a lovely widow whose husband was murdered. Later, he begins to suspect that she was the murderer. In another story, a dying old man finds redemption in a stray cat that mysteriously appears on his fire escape. In yet another story, a young woman discovers a horrible secret about her father after arriving in a distant city to attend her mother's funeral.
These stories are appropriate for older teens as well as adults.
