This book should cause you to look at the church today in something of a new way. It uses the only contemporary history of the church we possess in a different way. Rather than a history it seeks to determine the everyday practice of the church as a means for critiquing our practice. Don't expect to be entirely comfortable with the experience. Neither the author not his students have been. Expect to find some ideas you may want to try to implement in improving the church as you know it.
