Dok grew up in a poor section of the Terran corporate empire during the fiftieth century. At an early age he decided that he wanted to be a doctor. He worked hard at his studies so he would be able enter a medical school. In order to pay for medical school he turned to a life of crime. Once he completed his training as a doctor and opened a private practice, his past came back to haunt him. To avoid the problems he fled earth. A journey that took him through the Terran corporate empire to another planet. A planet where magic appears to work.

Being a dyslexic, Dale Johnson had real difficulty learning to read, but from the time he learned he loved to read science fiction and fantasy. He tried a number of times to write his own but always ran into a problem of not being able to spell. Fortunately for him modern speech to text software allowed him to finally write.
