This is the first book in a series of children's stories featuring characters located in a harbour setting. The characters are such as tugs, a submarine, barges, police boats, water taxis, sea-planes, trucks, cranes, a cruise liner and a dinner cruise boat.

Each story in the series (collectively known as 'Harbour Tales') features one or more of the characters as the central element.
