Deanna Vanderbilt was born in Cadillac, Michigan. She grew up in the rural community of Tustin, playing on her grandfather's farm with her two brothers and cousins. She is now the mother of eight children and lives in the beautiful city of Grosse Pointe Woods just outside of Detroit. Deanna has a Master's Degree in Education and has been an elementary teacher in the Detroit Public School system for 12 years. Deanna says, "I love children's literature as much as I love children. Teaching children how to read brings me great pleasure. I want children to love books as much as I do."
