Says he of the orange and white fur, trust that miracles do occur!
Orange Ruffy comes from humble origins. He lived in an old car, showing up one spring fading to summer morning. He was taken to the vet who determined he had feline lice, fleas, and was FIV+. He was then taken home to recover on the glassed-in back porch.
Ruffy was set to go up for adoption, but despite a donation to the rescue who agreed to take him, he could only be shown on weekends when the rescue found out about his FIV+ status. When his rescuers found out about his FIV+ status, it made them more determined to help him and other FIV+ cats who are often overlooked and euthanized in shelters.
Ruffy had a potential adopter, but due to scratching them by accident after hearing a dog bark, they changed their mind.
It was determined that Ruffy for the moment return to his foster home. When Deb and Jim moved, along with Bella, and still feral Smokieboo, Ruffy went with them, becoming their buddy on several adventures. He welcomed many fosters and other adoptees and was truly the Clowder leader for many years.
When he was about to pass, he let Mom Deb know that he would remain with her, the Warrior Poet, sending wisdom and comfort to others. From his humble beginnings to the Catster Community, to his Facebook page, Ruffy shares with others words of comfort and love, assuring them that the veil between worlds is thin, and they are loved and cherished. Ruffys passion is for FIV+ cats, cats that are feral, and those rescuers who put their very lives on the line to save those who otherwise would be the unnoticed of the world, the less than cats who deserve to be loved and bathed in light and understanding. For indeed, in Ruffys words; The Cat Goddess danced the day you were born!
