A compiled history of my third great grandfather, Benjamin Gardner (1800-1875). A true Mormon Pioneer, he suffered persecution in Illinois and Iowa, then captained a wagon train that traveled to the Salt Lake Valley in 1852. In Utah, he set up and operated two important grist mills in Weber County, Utah. He and his wife, Electa Lamport, were the parents of twelve children, eight of whom lived to reach maturity
