It all started with a box...a box full of ancient musty manuscripts and glittering gold coins. When a client discovered the box buried under his house, he went straight to Detective Jake Jezreel for advice. All the manuscripts had strange foreign writings scrawled on them. But strangest of all, there also was an ancient map nestled in the box. It, too, had enigmatic writings hiding the real purpose of the sketched diagram. The mysterious map appeared, tantalizingly, to lead to something of vital importance.

Immediately Jake calls in a local, former Pharisee to attempt to translate the strange documents. Good progress is made in translating the parchments. The documents appear to be official foreign government records which had, for some unknown reason, been buried under the client's house many years before.

But more importantly, the map seemed to hold the greatest promise of intrigue. The map, cloaked in its mysterious writing, drew increased allurement with its apparent potential for grander rewards.

But when the box and the map are both stolen, Jake Jezreel is swept into a race against time to outsmart the thieves. The ancient map is the key to beating the bad guys to the punch. But the criminals have the map! Advantage to the bad guys! What stray, obscure clue can Jake use to outwit the criminals?

Autorentext

Donald Craig Miller has been writing Christian papers for local churches and newsletters for more than 50 years. In 2018, he launched his first in a series of Christian books based on a first century detective. His Christian writing is a result of attending a Billy Graham writing school in Minneapolis in 1971. This experience encouraged him to develop his already growing desire to write and redirect his desire toward glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ in his writings. Through the cooperation of pastors, he has been able to write for church newsletters and bulletin inserts for churches he has attended and more recently in the central Georgia region. Miller also has been a Bible teacher for over 57 years, teaching in Sunday school and church settings, in home Bible studies, and as a lay preacher. He found Christ through The Navigators while stationed at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa. Not long after accepting Christ, Miller realized that God had gifted him with the gift of teaching. From then on, his great desire has been to dig scriptural truth from the Bible and pass it on to other Christians. Based on these years of teaching, the life of Christ has especially come alive for Miller. His desire is to translate his passion for the life of Christ into the lives of his readers. To do this, Miller has emmeshed the Gospel of Christ into every story line of his books, with the hope each reader will be drawn closer to Christ.
