In my first book, "I NEVER SAW IT COMING," I outlined my forty-six-year career in law enforcement, detailing how I met my wife and how I got involved in law enforcement. It detailed all the places I worked and the locations where I worked. My second book, "I Was A Police Officer," reflects my experiences as an Amite City and Baton Rouge City Police Officer. I discuss my experience working in the small town of Amite and transitioning to a large city police department in Baton Rouge.

This book will pick up from where "I Was A Police Officer" left off. I describe my work as a Border Patrol Agent on the United States Mexico border and at U.S. Ports of Entry around the Country. It will illustrate my transition from a police officer to a federal agent. I discuss my experiences and attempt to clarify some common misconceptions about the southern border and the immigration problems it is plagued with.

I also discuss my experience working as an Immigration Inspector, Senior Inspector, and Area Port Director. This book will also cover the transfer of positions from the Area Port Director in the U.S. Virgin Islands to a Supervisory Special Agent in New Orleans. I aim to write another book about my experiences, detailing each position I held, starting from a Supervisory Special Agent position to working as a Special Agent for Internal Affairs for the Department of Homeland Security, and sharing details about the various roles I served in.

Please understand that the information in this book is based on my i recollection and the daily journals I maintained during this time period. Please visit my website at www.authordonaldrsmith.com for updates and information about my upcoming book, "SPECIAL AGENT."
