Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Much information has been gleaned from both these writers, and from the later history of Dr. Robinson (whose references in particular have been of great value). Where, however, their statements are at variance with other evidence, and the Editors have attempted to correct inaccuracies, or to remove obscurities, or where, what appeared redundant has been replaced by matter which they thought would be more generally interesting, they have endeavoured to steer between the two extremes, so aptly described by Hen.
