Inevitably divorce is difficult for children. There is no way around this. But even the very youngest children need a way to understand and make sense of how their family is changing. Author Emily Menendez-Aponte offers a starting point to begin explaining divorce to your child. She helps explain to children that divorce is not their fault, that it's normal to feel upset and scared and confused, and that it's good to get all these feelings out.

Emily Menendez-Aponte holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Social Work degree. As a licensed social worker, she has counseled families and children for over 10 years. Currently, she lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children and is an independent consultant for the New Jersey Early Intervention System.

Anne FitzGerald is an internationally known artist and has written and illustrated over 200 children's books. She is creator of Dear God Kids and many other children's books and products. Anne works from her studio/gallery in Limerick, Ireland, and teaches art in Liberty Christian School there.
