organic chemistry is a branch of chemistry which deals with the compounds of carbon 'The subject is of vital importance to the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and textile industries, where a prime concern is the synthesis of new organic molecules and polymers. The Encyclopaedia of organic chemistry is written to provides an effective, clear, and readable introduction to the basic and logic of organic chemistry. lt presents clear explanations, thought-provoking examples, and an innovative vertical format for explaining reaction mechanisms, it takes a modern approach: primary organization is by functional group, beginning with the simple (alkanes) and progressing to the more complex. The encyclopaedia contains a comprehensive treatment of laboratory techniques, including small-scale and some micro scale methods. specifically, the focus on mechanisms is a unifying theme, rather then just an organizing principle. with very plain language and explicit illustrations, each chapter provides a summary of new reactions and plenty of exercises.
