Volume-Six in the "Subcontinent Sirens" collection brings us another two female-led books of obsession and psychological warfare involving the misadventures of European men with the women of the Indian Subcontinent.

We open with "The Caging" by Frederick Hambling, in which a desperate man's application for a live-in handyman position to try and get his life on an even keel until he moves onwards and upwards turns into something far more... permanent... Or at least it will if his calculating and domineering new employer-cum-Indian-landlady has her way.

The volume closes with Malkin Jamali's "The Indenturing", as karma reaches out to ensnare a thief and a marital cheat in its iron-grip - though it will not be his long-suffering wife who exacts revenge but the Indian CEO for whom he works and has stolen from... A vengeful and implacable widow for whom legal consequences and the serving of a custodial sentence is nowhere near good enough to pay him back for his disrespect of not just her but his wife.

Believable female-led fiction of the psychological kind for those readers who enjoy having their imaginations triggered.
