Climbing the iconic steps where Sylvester Stallone would later train for his role in the film Rocky, teenager Gail Marten attended classes at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, marveling at the legendary artwork displayed in the galleries. Inspired by what she saw, visual art became her manner of creative expression. When Marten moved to Maryland in 1976, a series of unforeseen events occurred, and her musical talent was discovered. She put away her art supplies and embarked on a long and fantastic career as an award-winning jazz vocalist and songwriter. She produced four albums (Beyond the Rainbow, Pure Joy, Is It Love, and In Love Again) and is included on more than 30 compilation albums created by EQ Music in Indonesia.Due to recurring vocal difficulties, Marten no longer performs. However, her music is still played every day on international radio stations in more than 35 countries. Her creative spark was re-ignited when Marten began writing fiction. Her book, The Players: A Tale of Deception and Desire, was released to glowing reviews. Print and e-book versions are available from Amazon and booksellers worldwide. An audio version of the book is currently in production and scheduled for release in late 2025.
