Since the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, I have posted numerous essays and other commentaries on Facebook. They are of varying length on matters of politics, international affairs, history, law and justice, science, journalism, education, psychology, health, humor and personal matters. After I completed the tenth book in this series on Social Media Musings, I vowed not to include future posts in any other book. Circumstances, however, dictated otherwise. To the more than 1,100 separate essays, commentaries, notes, etc., all taken together as social media musings, I've added those in this sequel and a previous one.
As I've said throughout this series of books, I believe in an informed citizenry that relies on facts, logic, critical thinking, and reasoned judgment. At a time when too many people rely too heavily on social media and the misinformation from those sources; at a time when anger and rage too often replace common sense and critical thinking; it is hoped that the essays and social commentaries in this series of books will inspire dialogue and further citizen involvement in their communities. Through diligence and commitment in the face of fear; through speaking out rather than remaining silent; Democracy will prevail.
