Kenny Jones and his childhood friend Jeffry Cree, meet many years later when Kenny, after retiring from a successful footy career, moves to a small town in Victoria's Gippsland, to take up a teaching post at the local Marist College. Kenny has revealed that he is Gay whilst Jeffry is struggling to admit being a homosexual. His marriage to Cynthia has become a disaster.
There is also an undercurrent of tension in the town as rumors spread of local clergy paying aboriginal children for sexual favors.
