It shows how seemingly unrelated events connected in unimaginable ways. It further shows how people can work together to solve common problems if they have the right motivation. It highlights the family as an important institution of the community as it works along with the church and school. It is easy reading for children and adults, and could be used in related studies of history.

Henry A. Dyson, writing as Henry J, his childhood name, grew up on a farm in Sumter, South Carolina. After graduating from Ebenezer High School he went away to Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, and then to New Jersey where he was employed for 40 years as a Real Estate Manager. He never forgot his childhood experiences in school, at work and play. His life was shaped by parents, siblings, friends, teachers, and neighbors from similar humble beginnings. He re-lives his childhood adventures through Franklin Meyers, the main character of the series. He is now retired and living back in South Carolina.
