Hilary Arnow Burns was a graduate of Wharton Business School and a varsity athlete. She had a successful career on Wall Street, looked great, had plenty of friends and alot of fun. She got married and told herself she was living her dream. Two kids and 14 years later, she had gained 40 pounds and thought her only problem was her weight.

Two comments woke her up one day - one from her daughter and one from an old high school friend. She got motivated and started losing her excess baby weight. Without food to numb her, she had a disturbing realization. She didn't like what had happened to her life. Little by little she realized that her dream life was a fantasy that she was not living.

This memoir tells the story of her journey - how she takes a hard, difficult look at her marriage and her life.

The gym becomes Hilary's laboratory. All sorts of things happen there - good and well, you'll have to read it to see.

The Second Piece of French Toast is authentic, courageous and real. It is truly inspiring.

Anyone who has ever wondered what has happened to their life needs to read this book. It will inspire them to create a life they love.
