In Loving Memory of a wonderful Tasmanian traveller and global citizen.
Growing up in Tasmania, Iola Mary Ballard found wisdom in the land, the people, and the companionship of a loyal dog named Cardie. Through poetic storytelling, this collection captures the essence of childhood in the Tasmanian wilderness, reflecting on moments of adventure, friendship, and discovery.
Alongside these vivid recollections, Ballard explores the power of family sayings?those timeless words of guidance passed down through generations. She traces their roots, uncovering their origins in classical literature, biblical texts, and the traditions of those who came before.
A thoughtful and heartfelt journey through memory and meaning, The Heart of Tasmania celebrates the beauty of simple truths, the wisdom of lived experience, and the enduring connection between past and present.
NOTE: This book includes both Cardie and Me, and Things My Mother Told Me, making it unnecessary to purchase both.
