On repenting and believing the gospel it pleased God to justify each of us, and send the Spirit of His Son into our heart. Each was born again of the Spirit of God, into the family of God, and given the new nature of wanting to please God.
Accordingly we press towards the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Realizing that one is not crowned unless he strives lawfully, the author sets out in this book to show the right way of doing that which is good and right according to the word of God. It is hoped that it will bring glory and honour to the Lord Our God and be a help and a blessing to the reader.

The author was born in Northern Ireland. In search of fame and fortune, he immigrated with his wife and children to the United States. There he found unsearchable riches and an incorruptible inheritance when he obtained the mercy of the Lord. He immediately started over against his own house to share the truths that God had used to convert him.
After forty years engaged in personal evangelism, he was exercised to share his experience and knowledge with fellow saints in the hope of helping them to strive lawfully in their ministry and to increase in the knowledge of His will.
