Christian cessasionists would have us believe that divine healing served the purpose of establishing and authenticating the early church and that it ceased after the demise of the Apostles. There is no outright indication in the Bible that miraculous gifts have ceased, but there is a clear-cut allusion, by Jesus, to reasons why healing could well be withheld. We are told, that by not following the commandments of Jesus, we would hinder the manifestation of blessings in store for us. Pride and unforgiveness are but two examples of what could stand in the way of divine healing, but not necessarily so. Healing is indeed available today, as testified by many.
