Jamie was born in York (1978), and brought-up in the Ryedale villages of Beadlam/Nawton. He has spent most of his life in Yorkshire and the North-East of England, having lived and worked in Scarborough since 2007. Educated at Terrington Hall Prep School, Durham School, Hull University, and currently Arts University Bournemouth; one exchange year was based in Canada at Dalhousie University (Halifax, Nova Scotia). He was the recipient of a Society of Author's Award 2022, and a Rocaberti Writer's Scholarship 2025. Part One of a Trilogy project, Plan 103f is his first novel.
