Marriage. Memory. Medicine. Malice.

Charlotte and Henry, a married couple in their sixties, lead comfortable but monotonous lives in Middle England. Following a health scare, Henry has retired from his post as a consultant pathologist. Charlotte once wanted to become a doctor too, but abandoned her training after a harrowing experience left her emotionally shattered. Now she devotes herself to good works, which are not always appreciated.

Charlotte has been seeing a life coach who is encouraging her to be more assertive. When Henry insists that she accompanies him to a medical school reunion, she resolves to confront the abuser who derailed her future. But opening the old wounds proves dangerous, and her reckoning spirals into something far darker. Meanwhile Henry's heart condition is getting worse.

Wry, unsettling, and laced with sharp observational humour, this tragicomic tale unfolds into a chilling final twist.
