For Revail, life is lonely and boring, but that beats the alternative in a kingdom where all wizards are under suspicion: attention can be dangerous. When a series of strange events puts people on edge, he finds out just how true that is. But he never suffers the consequences; a handsome stranger happens past in time to rescue him.

His fellow wizard is genial and wonderful, but he has secrets of his own. Not on the list of things he hopes to hide, the house full of cats or the fact that the house is magic. It can take them anywhere they think to dream but can't separate them from their pasts or make their choices for them.

There's a spark between them, but they'll have to change more than their location if they want this fling to blossom into something real.
