A live-in nanny, a private chef, and a few too many pastries make for one sweet autumn.

After a year away at a job that ended on less-than-stellar terms, Corinne Beaumont has just about had her fill of embarrassment. All she wants is to return to her charming hometown of Kingston, Ontario, stuff her face with goodies from her mom's bakery, and forget the whole thing ever happened. So when she miraculously lands the first nanny position she interviews for, she takes it as her sign to start over. She plasters on her patented smile, locks up her secrets in a dusty corner of her mind, and buckles down. Now if only she could get her OCD to comply with her plans.

Emilio Silang is harbouring a few secrets of his own: from his mom's concerning health to his ex's mysterious delay in signing the divorce papers, it's safe to say cheeriness is not in this chef's vocabulary. That is, until the new nanny arrives, all smiles and chatter like a living beam of sunshine. She even manages to apologize to him after he accidentally spills an entire bag of flour all over her... On her very first day.

Cori is trying to keep her chin up. Milo is trying to keep his head down. Neither of them is looking for romance. But one thunderstorm and a freshly-baked tarte later, they find their secrets starting to come to the surface-along with some unwanted feelings. Will the simmering tension between them begin to boil over, or will keeping their distance be as easy as pie?

Don't Go Breaking My Tarte is a mild spice, fade-to-black romcom with a guaranteed happily ever after.

Autorentext

Julianne Baclayanto is a hopeless romantic who writes books filled with anticipation, butterflies, and an abundance of fun. After being frequently described as "overly chatty" by friends, family, and teachers alike, she has decided to commit some of those never-ending words to paper and write the kind of stories that make your heart skip a beat. She currently lives in Ontario, Canada with her wonderful husband and beautiful new baby, and can probably be found rage-quitting Mario Kart whenever she's not writing.
