He soon discovers that his removal from home is only the beginning. After meeting others like him, he is thrust into a dangerous journey that tests his strength, integrity and will to survive. Along the way, he has to decide who he can trust, and how to protect his family, all while fighting for his life.

My name is K.J. Johnson. I'm a military brat, originally from Upstate New York, living in Fredericksburg, VA. Throughout my life, I've had many passions ranging from dance to Aikido and Taekwondo. However, writing is something that I have enjoyed since a very young age. I began writing short stories in elementary school for teachers, as terrible as they probably were. And as I got older, I indulged in poetry; I would read them at my parents' promotion ceremonies. Once I realized that I wanted to develop my craft, I studied creative writing in school. Back in 2011, while living in Atlanta, I began writing "Ember Awakening". It took a few years, and a lot of drafts, to finish but I finally reached the publishing stage in December of 2015. For most of my life, I've been intrigued by Supernatural/Fantasy books and movies, so writing this trilogy has been an amazing experience. I hope you enjoy it as well. Book 2 is Coming Soon...
