This book presents an analytical study of the 2006 general elections to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the perspective of the people. Capturing the people's thinking about the political activities of the leadership in the state, it surveys their expectations from the government, the kind of bureaucracy they want, the quality of services they expect from the state, and the relationship between the ruling party and the opposition. Also, it attempts to analyze the political participation of the people, especially in rural areas.
