In the wake of the Grim Revolts, humanity has turned back the clock, regressing technology, science and culture to prevent another rise of the Machines.

The 2110 World Cup had just ended in Alexandria, Egypt. Jacob was heading towards the safety of home, when a man appeared at the lonely dark dock where he kept his vehicle. Jacob thought he was about to be robbed, but then he saw the face of the alleged robber, and his inner groupie seized control, and offered everything.

Alas, Kinondo, the man in front of Jacob?nah, not a man, but a god of the field?was now a manufactured criminal. It was a matter of hours before the authorities finished polishing and embellishing the story of his downfall and published it in the certified news. And, after that, Jacob's idol would be off to the chopping block.

If only there were a place free of surveillance technology, and if?say?that place were filled with man-eating beasts, but there was a brave soul who could open the way...

A gripping blend of speculative fiction, political intrigue, and raw human connection, When Ra Rows through the Gates of Duat is a haunting tale of a world undone by its own fears?and the souls brave enough to defy it.

Autorentext

Kein was born in a sweltering tropical outpost, where he spent almost three decades. During that time, he had a chance to work in rice paddies alongside his father and uncle, and study at colleges with unsanitary toilets and mosquitoes that cause malaria, dengue and zika, while eating North Korea style rations. Materially awful as it was, his younger years put him in contact with excellent teachers that taught him mathematics, physics and computer sciences. Kein holds a bachellor's degree in computer sciences from his tropical university, and a PhD in numerical analysis and bioinformatics from a European university.

He now spends the days working for a global conglomerate from the comforts of a frozen land, and dreaming about a kinder world.
