Introduction

Pursuing a professional golf career, the author faced unexpected injuries and diabetes, leading to significant body changes. This experience revealed that consistent shots are achievable across diverse body types. Through this, the author discovered that consistent shots are achievable even with vastly different body types. For example, the swing of a golfer with a relatively strong upper body is identical to that of a beginner, and a novice's swing mirrors that of a beginner with an abnormally strong lower body. Furthermore, the author discovered that two distinct swing points are possible within the same body type.

The traditional fast swing that most golfers aim for typically takes 3 to 10 years to master. Golfers with stronger upper bodies or those who practice frequently can master it quicker. Conversely, those with strong lower bodies or less practice time may learn slower. However, with the slow swing method, solid shots can be developed much more easily.

The Slow Swing Point shot is one where the swing is roughly 8 hours slower than a commonly known fast swing, yet the shot connects. Occasionally, beginner golfers naturally achieve this shot at the slow swing point. When a beginner golfer with a strong lower body uses a very small swing, a high driver tee, or lighter clubs, their shots approach the slow swing.

Utilizing the Power Grip when developing a slow swing can simplify shot execution. It's often said that the grip accounts for 90% of golf. However, very few golfers fully utilize their grip. The author, too, initially thought the Power Grip was only suitable for their strong upper-body physique after trying it by chance. Through 30 years of subsequent experimentation and lessons, it was discovered that using the Power Grip produces excellent shots for all body types, extending beyond golfers with strong upper bodies to include advanced, beginner, and entry-level golfers.

The Power Grip Stroke allows golfers to reduce their swing size by approximately four hours compared to using a normal grip, simply by employing the Power Grip. For a successful Power Grip Stroke, you must use the Power Grip while also applying Slow Swing Techniques tailored to individual body types. Using the power grip stroke allows for a swing that puts less strain on the body, while offering significantly greater stability and distance compared to the standard grip. Moreover, the greatest advantage for amateur golfers using the Power Grip Stroke is its rapid learnability. Therefore, in this book, the author aims to introduce the principles of the Power Grip Stroke and Slow Swing Technique shots.
