L.A. Moglié (pronounced "lah MOH-lyee-eh" ? "The Wife" in Italian) is the Author of The Brutal Truth: Surviving in a Mobster's World. This is my grandmother's story. She was married to a mobster, Tony Lauretti, my grandfather, in San Francisco during Prohibition. It was an arranged marriage, so she had no say in the matter. In this book, I gave my grandma a voice to tell her story. Her firsthand account of what it was to be married to a mobster.
