Lapidus International is delighted to announce the creation of the Lapidus Publishing imprint which will publish and distribute all Plumb Lines projects. Plumb Lines projects are generously funded by a legacy gift from a Lapidus member to be used to promote writing for wellbeing projects.
These projects work with groups seeking to empower marginalised communities. They bring therapeutic and expressive writing to people as a means of expression, healing, and community building.
Plumb Lines came about through a partnership between the Plumb family and Lapidus International to support the work of writing groups in Bristol and to give recognition to writers who are too often overlooked. The Plumb family wanted to commemorate the life of their sister, Katrina, who died in 2021.
Katrina was a tireless campaigner for underserved voices; a poet and educator who worked with numerous writing groups, promoting the written word and how writing can materially improve wellbeing. The Plumbs desire to create a lasting legacy for Katrina and to support the development of writing groups through the exploration of creative expression.
Our primary goals are to provide benefit to the writers and readers in Katrina's memory and to create a long-lasting legacy through subsequent anthologies. Lapidus International seeks to nurture partnerships with underserved writing groups to support writing for wellbeing in all its various forms through Plumb Lines projects.
