My mother wouldn't tell me who my father was and mostly I didn't care--until spontaneous episodes of levitation changed my perspective. Yeah, I started to fly. Like magic, only real. Which meant that other things could be real too, right? Maybe ghosts, maybe witches? And me being able to fly meant other people secretly had magical abilities too. Like maybe my dad.
