A shapeshifting romance of dark secrets and hidden worlds from the voice of New York Times bestselling author Lori Handeland.
Legends never die . . .
When her cable television show Hoax Hunters is canceled, Kristin Daniels is determined to turn things around. Wouldn't debunking the biggest myth of a supernatural creature be just the thing to get her TV show back on the air? With that in mind, Kris sets off for Scotland to take on Nessie.
On the shores of Loch Ness she meets dark and brooding Liam Grant, a caretaker of the loch. Their attraction is instantaneous. Then women start dying and it's looking like Nessie, benign for so long, might be changing her ways.
As Kris and Liam investigate both the killer and the monster, ancient mysteries come to light. It isn't long before the professional skeptic begins to suspect that this time the hoax is actually the truth. But as the killer sets his sights on Kris, she wonders: Will she take that secret to the grave?
Fans of Jen L. Grey, Tessa Hale, and V. Vaughn will be enthralled.

Her novels, novellas, and short stories span genres from paranormal and urban fantasy to historical romance. After a quarter-century of success and accolades, she began a new chapter in her career. Marking her women's fiction debut, Just Once (Severn House, January 2019) is a richly layered novel about two women who love the same man, how their lives intertwine, and their journeys of loss, grief, sacrifice, and forgiveness.
While student teaching, Lori started reading a life-changing book, How to Write a Romance and Get It Published. Within its pages. the author, Kathryn Falk, mentioned Romance Writers of America. There was a local chapter; Lori joined it, dived into learning all about the craft and business, and got busy writing a romance novel. With only five pages completed, she entered a contest where the prize was having an editor at Harlequin read her first chapter. She won.
