In recent decades, understanding of sex has grown significantly. The phrase "sexual promiscuity" did not appear in the last century (to say there was no such thing as "friends taking advantage of each other"). Sex outside of marriage at that time was also difficult to accept and was subject to much more scandal than it is today.

Imagine a young man, fresh out of college, not ready to settle down, but has sexual urges. In previous decades, buying sex was a choice. Although illegal, it is not too difficult to find a prostitute, and the risk of being caught is very low. Although in the short term, it costs a relatively large amount of money to buy sex, in the long term, it is a good choice because customers do not have to bear risks such as unwanted pregnancy or engagement.
