When a school scavenger hunt takes thirteen-year-old Kinsey Everdell down an eerie hallway, she makes a shocking discovery: a mysterious stone that allows her and her friends to travel into the past. After traveling back to 1987 and finding the scorched remains of the city's most popular tourist attraction, Kinsey decides to use this newfound power for good: figure out who burned down the Dawhill Hotel, and stop them from committing the crime. However, as she starts to gather clues, it becomes clear that messing with time is much easier said than done.
