Autorentext

For many years Maggi travelled with her engineer husband, Robin, working in the UK, Canada, Libya, Cayman Islands, Philippines and Australia. During her travels she learned to fly, scuba dive, sail, and gained a science degree from the University of Toronto. After their sailboat was sunk in cyclone Justin and they were rescued by helicopter from the Coral Sea, off the coast of Australia, the author and her husband returned to Vancouver Island, Canada where they started farming, the latest of their adventures. For several years an editor and writer, she's been published on five continents.
Now retired from active work she lives with her husband by a river in Nova Scotia where he keeps his latest sailboat and she spends time landscaping; growing organic food and lavender; walking their latest pit bull puppy and writing during the long winter months.
Maggi died peacefully, at home on Jan 12, 2023, after accessing MAiD, following the aggressive
return of cancer.The past few years she has loved being an active member and
instructor at Elderfit, and part of that great family. In honour of Maggi's wishes,
she was cremated and no memorial service held. We can all celebrate the
life of Maggi through sharing stories and memories of her.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Robin, of 55 years; two wonderful
children, daughter Lisa (Pete) Phillips in PEI; son, Bill (Laurie) Ansell in Ontario;
and four lovely grandchildren: Alexander Phillips, Mitchell Ansell, Elizabeth
Phillips and Jessica Ansell.
