Shame has a way of whispering lies that stick. "You're not enough." "You'll never change." "You are defined by your past."

For many, these voices of shame have become the background noise of life-quietly shaping choices, relationships, and even faith. But what happens when grace walks in and speaks a better word?

Shame Left When Grace Walked In: Break Free from Self-Doubt and Live the Life God Designed for You is a life-changing invitation to step out of the shadows and into the freedom of God's love. Written with honesty, warmth, and biblical wisdom, this book takes readers on a journey from the crippling grip of shame to the wide-open spaces of grace.

Through powerful storytelling, Scripture reflections, and practical insights, you'll discover:

  • The subtle ways shame hides behind masks of perfection, performance, or silence.
  • How shame distorts identity, relationships, and even your view of God.
  • Why grace is not just forgiveness but a daily experience of freedom.
  • Biblical truths that dismantle shame's lies and restore your God-given worth.
  • Practical steps for embracing vulnerability, receiving healing, and living boldly.

This book isn't about quick fixes or shallow encouragement. It's about transformation-a heart-level shift that comes when you stop trying to earn God's love and start receiving it.

Each chapter closes with reflection questions designed to help you pause, process, and apply what you're learning. And with a 30-Day Grace Devotional Plan included, you'll have a daily companion to help you not just read about grace-but live it.

Whether you are wrestling with self-doubt, battling the weight of past mistakes, or simply longing for a deeper experience of God's love, this book offers hope: your story doesn't end in shame.

It ends in grace.

Autorentext

Mapula Makwela was born and raised in Polokwane, South Africa, in a Christian family where faith became the foundation of her life from an early age. She always carried a vision for her future?one shaped by prayer and guided by her dreams: to pursue education, build a fulfilling career, and create a family rooted in love and faith.

By God's grace, Mapula achieved part of that vision, completing her studies and working as a Research Assistant during a season that took her to the beautiful city of Cape Town. Yet, like many of us discover, life does not always unfold according to our timelines. Facing unexpected challenges?including returning home as a single mother of two and navigating the uncertainty of being jobless?she found herself in one of the hardest seasons of her life.

But this is where grace met her most powerfully. Through setbacks, shame, and doubt, Mapula discovered a deeper truth: God's plans are greater than ours, and His grace is sufficient in every season. Today, she writes not only from knowledge but from lived experience, offering encouragement, authenticity, and hope to anyone wrestling with shame, self-doubt, or detours in life. Her prayer is that readers of Shame Left When Grace Walked In will find the same freedom and restoration she continues to walk in?one step of grace at a time.
