Parlare ai poeti, inseguendo un gatto in mezzo al tempo delle guerre. Incontrare la Szymborska camminando insieme su un sentiero di parole. Si può percorrere una via chiamata poesia, la mente ci riporta dove siamo stati o dove vorremmo essere, le parole accendono quel miracolo segreto.
Ma che senso ha la poesia senza l'impegno civile?
Ecco perché diventa quasi sacro e necessario scrivere di guerre, scrivere dei moderni Ulisse, del loro viaggio in cerca di abbraccio e fraternità. Poi c'è il quotidiano, quello di una colazione, di una sveglia, di quel tempo che non crede al tempo e alla sua saggezza.

Talking to poets may take on different meanings: chasing a cat while a war is breaking out, meeting a well-known writer like Wislaw Szymborska, and walking with her along a route that is made up of words. It is poetry that allows our mind to bring us back to places we had already seen or where we would like to be. Words can make special wonders, or help them happen. But can poetry exist without civic engagement?
Writing about wars, about the modern Ulysses who search for hugs, for newer signs of brotherhood has become fundamental. Yet, our daily life also plays a key role: the time we spend having breakfast, waking up, trying to escape time that unavoidably goes by.
