The author has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree with an emphasis in early childhood education both from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She taught grades K -6 for 38 years and was an adjunct professor for 10 years supervising preschool - grade 6 student teachers. She is a long-term member of Phi Kappa Delta and was named in "Who's Who in American Education"; in 1987 and was happy to receive a local Apple Award for Teachers in 1992.
